Students and Families,

Since the Governor’s announcement that schools will finish the 2019-2020 year with remote learning, we have been working to address a number of specific items and events.

Please know that in these unprecedented times, everyone’s safety has remained our top priority.  Some of the decisions were not easy to make, but given the current situation these decisions have been made with every intention to do what is best for our students and staff.

Below is link to the complete list of items that have been addressed.  As the school year continues remotely, if additional items must be addressed we will communicate with you when that occurs.  We will share this information in several platforms that include our auto-caller system, Schoology, MCHS website, and the use of social media.  As questions arise, please reach out to any staff member for assistance.  We are here to help you navigate our current situation and to be as successful as possible.

I would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work and dedication during these last few weeks.  Our teachers and staff have been doing an exceptional job of providing instruction and resources for our students.  Our students and families have been very positive and understanding and have represented our school and community with great pride.  We appreciate your trust in knowing we will do everything possible to ensure every student is successful.

Please contact me via email with any questions you may have at cwalker@muncieschools.org

Greetings,

Thank you for visiting the Muncie Central High School website and your interest in our students and staff.  Our goal at Muncie Central is to make a positive difference in the lives of each of our students.  We are able to accomplish this by setting high academic expectations; providing resources and support to our students, staff, and families; and promoting student involvement in activities both inside and outside the classroom.

Muncie Central has a very proud tradition of academic and extra-curricular success, and our students and staff are committed to carrying on this great tradition.  The Class of 2019 surpassed $4.7 million in scholarships this past spring.  Through our partnership with the University of Notre Dame and the AP-TIP IN (Advanced Placement - Teacher Investment Program of Indiana) and the Ball Brothers Foundation, students scoring a 3 or higher on an AP exam receive a $100 incentive for each exam they pass.  In December of 2018, MCHS students were awarded $15,000 in AP Incentives.  MCHS is a fully endorsement Early College Program from the Center for Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL).  These accomplishments were in large part due to the efforts of our amazing teachers, staff, families, and most importantly our students.  2018-19 was a great year and we are looking to greater things this year!

If at any time you need to contact the school, please do so by emailing us at Central-info@muncieschools.org or calling the main office at 765-747-5260.  Thanks again for your interest in Muncie Central High School.
